Dear Brothers and Sisters:
WHAT DO YOU KNOW? I
It is graduation season. We celebrate the academic accomplishments of many.
How long has it been since you graduated? How have you continued to grow in knowledge, wisdom and understanding? Do you have a regular regimen to keep your brain stimulated?
Spend some time thinking what you are doing to help your thinking.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW? II
This last week I heard a presentation on the brain and its function. The speaker explained the vast difference exercise makes with brain power. Regular, moderate exercise stimulates parts of the brain that make learning more likely. I am thinking about how to apply this to my Confirmation Class. Maybe we will start with a couple laps around the church (outside).
Do you have a regular regimen to exercise your body so that your brain keeps stimulated?
Spend some time thinking about how you are positioning your body to the advantage your thinking.

At that same presentation the speaker explained the vast advantage the eyes have over the ears as a conduit to learning. If I was paying attention correctly, he said that the eyes take in 700,000 times more information than the ears. If that’s only half right, it is still an astounding difference.
Lots and lots of what we know we learn from our eyes. That can be good. That can also be very, very bad. Think about what you are setting your eyes on and how that affects what happens in your brain. Be very, very careful.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW? IV
Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I AM.
God is the “realest” thing there is. He is the essence of existence. He is the source of existence. His existence predates all of us. Isn’t it ironic that many people do not believe in the One who is more real than anything else? Think on this. God IS.
And in his existence he is able.
Who helps us in the midst of sin? Jesus says, “I am.”
Who helps us in the face of danger and death? Jesus says, “I am.”
Who is best able to guide us and direct us? Jesus says, “I am.”
Who is working all things together for our good? Jesus says, “I am.”
Who is worthy of our praise, adoration, thanksgiving, trust and glory? Jesus says, “I am.”

BRING YOUR BIBLE
This Sunday we are going to begin a sermon series that will work us through Galatians. This is called by many the Magna Carta of the Bible.
It will be helpful if you bring your own Bible these next few weeks.
